Wunderlich Lean Angle Indicators: Enhanced active riding safety, confidence and sense of security thanks to early feedback before reaching lean limits when cornering
Function and Product Features
- Many bikes are designed so that â if an engine protection bar is installed â the footrest and bar touch down almost simultaneously when leaning, which is usually uncritical in terms of tyre grip
- For riders who want reliable, early feedback before reaching the lean limit â whether beginners or experienced â we developed our lean angle indicators
- The optimised feedback provides greater margin when cornering and enhances active riding safety
- The indicators trigger a tactile signal to the foot at lower lean angles, clearly warning of the limit â especially with loaded bikes or when riding through dips or potholes
- They calmly and clearly indicate that there is still sufficient lean angle available
- They reduce the fear of being levered off and thus boost confidence and perceived safety
- Easy to mount â the indicators are simply screwed onto the outside of the original BMW footrests
- Increase relaxed riding and road safety â the lean angle indicators

Wunderlich Lean Angle Indicators create margins and ensure a significantly more relaxed riding experience
Many of us, who don't constantly ride on the limit, find the first footpeg touch-down in a corner on a new bike unsettling. The deep-seated fear of being levered off startles many riders. As a result, riders instinctively straighten up â even though it may not be necessary. This increases the corner radius and may lead to dangerous situations.
Many bikes are designed so that â if an engine guard is installed â the footpeg and guard touch down almost simultaneously at lean angles that are still safe for tyre grip. Keep in mind that various factors â such as bike load or hitting a dip or pothole â can reduce available lean angle.
For riders who want greater margin before touching the asphalt, we developed our lean angle indicators, which are easily mounted on the outside of the original BMW footrests.
Footrests equipped with lean angle indicators provide tactile feedback at noticeably lower lean angles. This feedback signals the limit earlier and more clearly, calmly reminding the rider that they still have reserve lean angle and are not yet at the âedge.â They increase confidence and security.
Our lean angle indicators are designed with maximum safety in mind. They require no power, no display, and no electronic components that could fail. This purely mechanical solution works in all conditions. The indicator is made from carefully selected materials and shaped for minimal resistance while ensuring perfect, safe feedback.
Ultimately, the lean angle indicators contribute to a significantly more relaxed riding experience and enhance your active safety on the road.
