Note and our recommendation

Bikes are often designed so that – when an engine protection bar is installed – the footrest and the bar make contact with the ground at the same lean angle, which is still within a safe range for tyre grip. However, it’s important to be aware that various factors, such as bike load or going through dips or potholes, may reduce available lean angle.

For riders seeking more clearance before making contact with the road, we’ve developed our lean angle indicators. These can be easily mounted to the outer side of the original Enduro footrests (#13515-200), the Option 719 footrests (#13515-302), or the standard footrests (#13515-100).

Or simply because fatigue, heat, or cold can drain your energy and endurance, leaving you unable to hold the bike up. Far from civilisation, it’s essential to rely on durable, dependable equipment that can take the strain and won’t fail – because staying mobile and independent can be critical for personal safety.

This Wunderlich ULTIMATE PRO engine protection bar is purpose-built for adventure riding.

It reliably protects the cylinder heads, valve covers and both lambda sensors. The all-around protection concept enhances passive safety and riding confidence. In the event of a drop or tip-over, forces are optimally distributed across the robust mounting points to avoid peak loads and reduce material stress. Compared to the standard version, the ULTIMATE PRO includes an additional filler plate that boosts protective coverage even further.

The PRO version features a solid four-way welded stainless steel PROtection plate with a noticeable 3 mm material thickness. Its cut-outs not only reinforce the tubing structure and increase protection for the cylinder head and valve cover, but also emphasise the adventure-ready design while allowing water to drain freely after river crossings.

The structure is made from 25 mm precision stainless steel tubing. The segments are formed on CNC bending machines and neatly welded. Visually, the bar integrates seamlessly into the bike’s design and enhances its bold appearance. Our ULTIMATE bar is maintenance-friendly: both the oil drain plug and filter cartridge remain fully accessible without removing the protection bar.

With all our bars, protective function and product design take centre stage. The stainless steel finish elevates your BMW in a high-end, durable way. The surface is glass bead blasted and then electropolished for a premium finish.
