The Mike on the Bike Spring Adventure Weekend is a four-day guided motorcycle tour through Luxembourg, the French Vosges and the northern Black Forest in Germany. Expect beautiful winding roads, changing landscapes, relaxed evenings at the campsite and a small group of like-minded adventure riders.

April can still be fresh, especially in the evening, but that is part of the experience. This is not an extreme winter expedition—it is an accessible early-season motorcycle adventure with carefully selected routes, comfortable daily distances and plenty of time to enjoy the journey.

With more than ten years of experience and over 150,000 kilometres ridden in Norway and across Europe, Mike takes care of the complete preparation, routes and guidance. You only need to bring your motorcycle, camping equipment and a sense of adventure.

The journey

Thursday 8 April – Arrival in Luxembourg

You arrive at our campsite in Luxembourg on Thursday evening.

After setting up the tents, we meet the group, enjoy a welcome drink and go through the plans for the weekend. Mike explains the route, expected weather and riding conditions during the first briefing.

There is no long riding stage on Thursday, giving everyone enough time to arrive comfortably after work.

Friday 9 April – Luxembourg to the Vosges

After breakfast, the real adventure begins.

We leave Luxembourg behind and follow a carefully selected route through beautiful countryside, small villages and winding roads towards France.

During the day, the landscape gradually changes as we approach the Vosges Mountains. We avoid unnecessary motorways and focus on the roads that make this region so enjoyable by motorcycle.

At the end of the day, we arrive at our second campsite in the Vosges.

Saturday 10 April – The Vosges and Black Forest

Saturday is the main riding day of the weekend.

We explore the best available roads through the Vosges before crossing the Rhine into Germany and continuing towards the northern Black Forest.

Expect flowing bends, forest roads, panoramic viewpoints and plenty of stops for coffee, lunch and photographs.

Because mountain weather can change quickly in April, Mike prepares both a primary route and an alternative lower-altitude route. This means the day remains enjoyable even if higher roads are closed or conditions change.

We finish the day at our campsite in or near the northern Black Forest.

Sunday 11 April – The long way home

On Sunday, we pack the motorcycles for the final stage.

Instead of taking the fastest motorway route home, we enjoy one last full day of riding. The return journey leads through a varied combination of German countryside, forests and winding roads before heading back towards the Netherlands.

Sunday is the longest riding day, so we start early and plan to arrive home in the evening.

Who is this weekend for?

This motorcycle weekend is suitable for riders who:

• Enjoy winding roads and full riding days
• Are comfortable riding in a small group
• Have some experience with multi-day motorcycle trips
• Do not mind camping in fresh spring temperatures
• Ride a well-maintained and road-legal motorcycle
• Can safely ride approximately 250 to 400 kilometres per day
• Want an adventurous but accessible start to the motorcycle season

You do not need a specific brand or type of motorcycle. Adventure bikes, touring motorcycles, crossovers and other comfortable road motorcycles are all welcome.

The routes are primarily on paved roads. Any unpaved sections will only be included when they are legal, suitable and clearly communicated in advance.

Price

€399 per person

Your place is confirmed after payment of the deposit. The remaining balance must be paid no later than 60 days before departure.

Places are limited to seven riders.

Every participant must bring:

• A reliable and properly maintained motorcycle
• Valid driving licence and motorcycle documents
• Suitable protective motorcycle clothing
• Waterproof clothing
• Tent, sleeping bag and sleeping mat
• Basic camping equipment
• Personal medication
• European breakdown assistance
• Travel insurance with motorcycle coverage

A complete packing list will be provided before departure.

More than just a guided route

Anyone can download a GPX file and follow a line on a navigation system. This weekend offers much more.

Mike takes care of the complete preparation, selects the most enjoyable roads and adapts the journey when weather, traffic or closures make that necessary.

You travel with a small group, camp together and share the complete experience, from the first coffee in Luxembourg to the final ride home on Sunday.
