Many riders who don’t ride at the physical limits find the first touch-down of the footrest while cornering with a new bike uncomfortable. The deep-rooted fear of being “levered out” can be unsettling. The natural reaction is to sit the bike up – even when it’s not yet necessary. But this increases the cornering radius and can lead to dangerous situations. That’s what we want to prevent.

In reality, touching down the footrest is usually harmless – modern bikes have folding pegs to avoid levering out.

Often, bikes are designed so that – if equipped with engine protection bars – footrest and bar contact the ground at nearly the same lean angle, which is not critical in terms of tyre grip. However, various factors such as loading or hitting a dip/pothole can limit lean angle prematurely.

For riders who want earlier warnings when approaching the lean limit, we developed our lean angle indicators, which can be easily bolted to the outer side of the original enduro footrests.

With lean angle indicators installed, a tactile impulse is triggered earlier at lower lean angles. This clear and gentle feedback allows the rider to sense the approaching limit with confidence – without panic – and shows that there’s still safe lean angle reserve. They enhance safety and confidence.
