Note and our recommendation

Bikes are often designed so that – when an engine protection bar is installed – the footrest and the bar make contact with the ground at nearly the same lean angle, which is generally safe in terms of tyre grip. It’s important to note that factors like bike load or hitting a dip or pothole may reduce the available lean angle.

For riders who want greater margin before making contact with the road, we have developed our lean angle indicators, which can be easily mounted on the outer side of the original Enduro footrests (#13515-200), Option 719 footrests (#13515-302) or standard footrests (#13515-100).

World-travelling adventure riders know this: there are days when the bike falls over more than once – because conditions are unlike anything one might encounter in civilised and developed Europe with its well-maintained road network. Or because the physical exertion, heat, or cold simply drain your strength and stamina, making it impossible to hold the bike upright. Far from civilisation, it is therefore even more important to rely on equipment that can withstand material stress and just hold up – without failing. It can be crucial to remain mobile, moving and independent, in order to minimise personal risk as much as possible.

This Wunderlich ULTIMATE PRO engine protection bar is specifically designed for adventure riding.

It reliably protects the cylinders and valve covers as well as both lambda sensors. The all-round protection concept increases passive safety and enhances riding pleasure. In the event of a fall or tip-over, the acting forces are optimally distributed via the protection bar structure to the load-bearing mounting points, avoiding force and torque peaks and effectively reducing material stress. The ULTIMATE PRO includes an additional filler plate that further increases protective performance compared to the standard ULTIMATE version.

The additional PROtection plate on the PRO version is solid, welded at four points, and has a noticeable thickness of three millimetres. It features cut-outs that reinforce the tube structure and simultaneously extend direct protection for the cylinder head and valve cover. These cut-outs not only underscore the adventure-inspired tool design, but also allow water to drain away directly after river crossings.

The protection bar structure is made from 25 mm precision steel tubing. The tubing segments are bent using CNC tube bending machines and then cleanly welded. Visually, the bar integrates harmoniously with the design of the bike and enhances its rugged appearance. Our ULTIMATE engine protection bar is designed for easy maintenance: both the oil drain plug and filter cartridge are fully accessible without removing the bar.
